David Czech, GM of Osceola Football, has accepted the position
of National Sales Manager with Leisure Bay Industries,
one of the world’s leading manufacturer of hot
tubs. Czech has over twenty years of experience in both
sales and sales management, most recently directing a
North American sales force for a leading capital equipment
company. The announcement this past Friday by David Doebler,
president of the football team and the spa manufacturer,
came as Osceola’s football season came to an abrupt
end. Osceola chose to withdraw from the NIFL playoffs
rather than sign a binding non-compete agreement with
the league. “While we are disappointed with the
somewhat sudden end to our inaugural season, we believe
significant strides were made to professional indoor
football in Osceola County”, says Doebler. Osceola
achieved an 8-6 regular season record, fourth best in
the Atlantic Conference. For perspective, the previous
franchise finished the 2005 campaign with a 2-12 record
“
David’s involvement with the football team was planned
to be for our first year only” states Doebler. “He
professionally built our brand new football operation into
a highly respected organization and I hope he can continue
these results in his new position.” Osceola was able
to quickly establish credibility in Central Florida by partnering
with some of the area’s prominent businesses. “Corporate
sponsorships and ticket sales determine the overall success
and longevity of a minor league sports franchise, and I believe
we are well positioned for the 2007 season”, says Doebler.
The primary focus for the coming season will be to expand
Osceola’s growing fan base.
During the search for a new GM David will continue to act
on the team’s behalf in running its operations. Osceola
will begin a search for a new GM immediately.
Thank you again from the entire Osceola Football Staff for
your support!
