Osceola's Thurman Thomas named NFL Hall of Fame Finalist

In his first year of eligibility, Thurman Thomas, the Osceola Football Team Director of Football Operations, has been named a finalist for Pro Football’s Hall of Fame. Thurman played for the Buffalo Bills from 1988-1999 and was a vital component to the Bills impressive run of four straight Super Bowl appearances.

Thurman set an NFL record in leading the league in yards from scrimmage for four consecutive seasons. In 1991 he gained over 2000 yards from scrimmage and was named the NFL’s most valuable player for the season. At the time of his retirement, he ranked 6th all time in NFL history for yards gained.

Thurman is one of only three running backs (Walter Payton and Marcus Allen) in the NFL to have over 400 receptions and 10,000 rushing yards. From 1989-1993 he was named to five consecutive Pro Bowls, as well as being named All-Pro for each of those years.

Osceola Football congratulates Thurman on getting one step closer to Canton and Pro Football’s ultimate destination, the NFL Hall of Fame. Final voting will take place at the Super Bowl in Detroit on February 4th.
